To strengthen democratic accountability by providing citizens, journalists, and researchers with transparent, verifiable data on political promise-keeping across the globe.
Our Story
Public Mandate was founded in 2022 by a group of political scientists, data engineers, and civic technologists who saw a critical gap in democratic accountability. While politicians make thousands of promises during campaigns, there was no centralized, transparent system to track whether those promises were kept.
We built Public Mandate to fill that gap. Our platform combines AI-powered promise extraction from manifestos, real-time progress tracking, and citizen validation to create a complete picture of political accountability.
Today, we track over 10,000 promises from 500+ politicians across 50+ countries, with thousands of citizens participating in validation. Our data is used by journalists, researchers, and civic organizations worldwide to strengthen democratic institutions.
